Women in tourism
Many of our experiences are led by women guides.
Tourism is one of Uganda's fastest-growing industries — and we believe women belong at its front, not just behind the scenes.
Walking Explorer African Vacations was built on a simple conviction: the people who guide you through Uganda should include the women who live here. In an industry where guiding roles have traditionally gone to men, we train, employ and promote women as professional guides and tour leaders.
Many of our experiences are led by women guides — from Kampala walking tours to cultural experiences and family trips. Guide availability varies by date and tour, so if a women-guided experience matters to you, tell us and we'll confirm what we can arrange for your dates.
This is not a marketing line. It is how we run our company: hiring locally in Old Kampala, investing in skills and safety training, and creating steady, dignified work in a sector where women have long been underrepresented.
