A slice of Central Africa in Uganda

Western Uganda, on the floor of the Albertine Rift

Semuliki is an extension of the vast Congo Basin forest, and its species list reads more like Central Africa than East Africa. The Sempaya hot springs — where water boils out of the ground at over 100°C — are a memorable stop on any western Uganda circuit.
Birders come for the park's rare Central African species, while the nearby Bundibugyo region adds beautiful drives along the Ruwenzori foothills.
