Clothing
Think layers, not camouflage fantasies. Long-sleeved shirts and trousers for the forest (neutral colours — gorillas and tsetse flies notice bright blue and black), a warm layer for cool highland mornings, and a light rain jacket even in the dry season.
Sturdy, broken-in walking shoes matter more than boots. Add sandals for lakeside evenings, a hat and sunglasses.
Kit
A good torch or headlamp, a power bank, and adapters (Uganda uses British-style three-pin plugs). Binoculars transform a safari — one pair per person beats sharing. A dry bag or waterproof cover protects electronics on boat trips and in the rain.
Health & documents
Yellow fever vaccination certificates are required for entry to Uganda. Bring any personal medication, plus sunscreen, insect repellent and a basic first-aid kit. We'll send a full checklist and current entry requirements with your itinerary.
Leave at home
Single-use plastic bags are banned in Uganda. Hard-sided suitcases are awkward on safari vehicles — soft duffels pack better. And you won't need much formal wear: even our cities are relaxed.
